Car Registration And Dl For Temporary Move To A Different State

hi friends,
I'm moving from Georgia to Texas for 4 months for my work purpose. I will be driving my car there. I'm planning to return to Georgia after 4 months. do I have to register my car in Texas and get a new Drivers License? I was told that insurance won't cover incase of any accident after staying in a different state for 30 days. I have insurance with 21st century. I didn't try to call the insurance because I was told that it may trigger verification from the insurance side.

If I have to register again in Texas, I will have to register my car again in Georgia once I go back and it costs more. I think many of us move from one state to another state. Please help how to handle this.

Thank you for the details. Is there any way cops/insurance will come to know about the new address. ( I will have to change my address for tax and health insurance purpose)

Hi Friends,
I have continued with my Georgia license and insurance while staying in Texas for the last 3 months.
Today, my bad luck and I was involved in an accident in texas. It was crossing the 2 lane main road from a private way . I have crossed the first lane. But on the second lane, I was hit by a car from the main road. For some reason I failed to judge the coming car or it came too fast.
Car front side was damaged and not in drivable condition and had to be towed away. By gods grace, no one was injured.

Cops came and gave me ticket with a note "Failed to yeild row on private way"., offence code 3056. They have asked me to call some number for the penalty and have to visit the court. Not sure what it means.

I have informed insurance and filed a claim saying that I'm visiting Texas.

Can you guys help me to understand what will happen? how much penalty do I need to pay..? Do I get any points? how does it impact the out of state license?

And most important, how does my insurance treat this? will they pay for the repair? my car resale value will also go down?

I bought a new car 4 years back when I came to US and this is my first accident in US in the last 4 years. I'm very depressed with the event.

any help is appreciated...

Thanks
