Main thing:Please explain what exactly you need to do..to create a driver to use biometric hardware? To convert embeeded C code(whihc interacts with biometric ) to Java?

intialially:
"First read what vendor needs,every bit of it understand and realize what the problem is "
if you undertand the problem properly...you can solve it easily
To communicate with the device we have protocol.....we can implement it in any programming language. Because basically it requires only some means of sending commands anthe

cool...its very easy now as you are not creating a protocol...

Cleary study the commands and the format it expects you to send...

if its a request response paradigm .. simple create request objects... and response objects (im talking abt very big picture..you need to figure out at granular level)

What kind of reuest you have....if there group them....make parent child classes based on them...

After that when you are communicating with protocol...prior that wriote a validator to chekc for ur self ur sending proper.....

There are lot of things that can be done...i cant type long .paragraphs..

@salvidi

Mostly write ur code in interfaces...it will be easier... and flexible..to chnage at any moment...
Understand the objects and relationships clearly before making a deisgn..that saves lot of time...
