To save her mother (Pragathi), who is suffering from Cancer, Pavitra (Shriya) turns as a prostitute from her teenage. Pavitra's uncle (AVS) is the person who gives her the idea of prostitution and soon she turns into a high class call girl. Pavitra meets lot of people in her profession and one such person is MLA Saikumar. This politician leaves her house without sleeping with her but later on sends his innocent son (Kaushik) to Pavitra's house for experience. Things take a turn and Kaushik falls in love with Pavitra. Sai Kumar doesn't agree for the marriage initially, but later on decides to get his son married to Pavitra for his political mileage and plan to kill her after the marriage. Will Pavitra marry MLA's son? Will she enter into politics? Answer for all the questions should be watched on the big screen.
[b]Analysis:[/b]
After watching the promos and coming to know about the story of the film, audience definitely expect some bold and emotional episodes in the movie. But, there is nothing much said about the exploitation of the women within the film. First half of the movie goes on with some heavy scenes and in the second half, the prostitute heroine becomes a minister. How can the director expect to convince the audience by portraying a prostitute role in a completely opposite manner? Thorough out the movie, Shriya tries to help the society and gives a message to the people.
Write and director Janrdhan Maharshi's thought might be good, but he has completely failed in direction department and with his sour dialogues, he made the movie horrible. This film is not even good in technicality terms as well. Director tried to utilize some of the good actors and there are lots of mistakes in the film. Overall, this is one of the films in Shriya's career, which she can easily forget.
[b]Technical Aspects:[/b]
Music by MM Srilekha is average and cinematography by Suresh Kumar is good. Editing is just ok. Excluding some dialogues, Janardham Maharshi has completely failed as a director in Pavitra.
[b]Performances:[/b]
Shriya has done a lot of skin show in this film but her charm has been completely vanished. Shivaji was ok in his limited role. Ravi Babu and Sai Kumar have done their job.
