Please help bayya ... Here is my situation ..

Company A dvara , L1 visa midha us ki vachaanu ... i have served 6 years for Company A on L1 . Nenu ee year H1 ki apply chesaanu (Company B ).. Luckily my application got picked and it got approved and I have to start working for Company B from October 1st ..

As per indian company A policies, I have to serve two months notice to them .. Based on that nenu Company A ki , august 1st ki EXIT kodithe.. Company A vaadiki G lo kaali ventane ,Nannu terminate chesthe ..

Since i am working in US, Notice period to any company is just 15 days anta kada ?

1) 2 months notice ikkada undadhu... adhi India lo maatrame. Ikkada 15 days unte chaalu...
2) Needhi New H1 or Change of Status from L1 to H1 aaa?
3) Needhi new H1 ayyithe. Oct 1st nunchi, you must start working with Company 'B', since L1 with 'A' will be automatically terminated.
4) What is the role in your current project? Is it critical? I mean, same day terminate chesthe entha effect untundhi. If there is no effect and project needs you for some time after your resignation, then inform 'A' about your quit on Sep 16th, with 2 weeks of notice.

antha matter emee undadu, inform company A that I have got so n so offer at company B, 2 months notice anedi andharikee varthinchadu, also tell them that you have your eh one approved from company B, so nuvvu legally company B ke work cheyyaali after october....thats it.

Nenu same L1 to H1 jump ayyanu...3 years back.

Here is the post I placed in PathToUsa before I made the jump...

[b][color=Blue]You continue on L-1 status along you wish. If you want to switch to H-1B status that is also possible only on or after Ocotber 1, 2008.

It well known that you are selected in this year H-1B quota.
But in Form 129 your employer can tick any one of this following

1.Notify the office [us consulate] so the person can obtain a visa or be admitted [ this is called consular process]

2. Change of Person(s) status and extend their stay since the person(s) are all now in U.S. in another status. [ This is called change of status]


If you have informed that the current employer about your H-1B status then he may cancel your L-1 status without informing you and he may inform you when you are in your home country. In that scenario, you have to go H-1b stamping because you cannot come back to US under L-1 visa.[/color][/b]
