Looks like a small town bro
i don't think you will find indians there
better idea is to go there and stay in a motel for few days
in the mean while look for apartments/condos/houses to rent in CL
sulekha is your last chance. I am sure there will be desi guys who has hotels, they might help you
try to go to that city a day or two days before your job starts and search around that town

This is one of the best place to live in. If you are looking for an apt near the university try to look at Waldorf apts, Kimbrough apts. I did my masters there. Desi population used to be good but now gradually decreasing (last two years). Lot of desi families are ther but few number of students now. Two desi restaurants, just average food. Nearest cities- St Louis and Kansas City- plenty of Indian restaurants and grocery shops- both are 3 hrs distance. If you live near the university, you can share the apt and its very cheap cost of living. Decent town with less desi population.

Until two years back, it was really good to live there. We used to conduct cricket tournaments also with atleast 8-10 teams. But now ITS DRY....sorry to say this.

Good luck.
