smilysubbu Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 As per the records there were 3500 lakes in Hyderabad which are now converted to 170+ out of which every one knows how many are operational. SOUL is a independent organization who gatehred the data and submitted the records to HMDA and GHMC. Shameless creatures they dont even know the number before some NGO took the initiative and worked hard for 2+ long years.. MOst of the lakes are already occupied and the strategy is what u have mentioned.. leave the lake till it is completely filled with filth and weeds. Then slowly they will lay some huts in the lake and starts occupying it.. Once no one objects a five to 10 storied building will appear in no time.. this continues until the complete lake is exhausted.. HMDA and GHMC has now called for individual organisations to take care of lakes as a part of CSR activities.. However companies are not showing interest as it involves money in crores and Govt is no ready to pay a single penny..
