[/quote] Actually its not very easy to tap gas energy thats beneath the ocean bed. The sampling itself would cost millions if not billions. The tragedy is that this technology is owned by very few companies like Shell, BP & some US based MNCs. So even the companies like Reliance have to depend on them. They have to go deep into the sea and take samples and then do estimation and then get approval. The ratio of success is very small. Its where the problem is. Except Chinese and Japanese companies, every one in Asia and Africa have to agree to their terms. For ex., if BP or Shell demands 50% stake then there is no alternative for any Govt. They have to agree. So after sharing the revenues Reliance could not find any considerable profit so put lot of pressure on the then Central Govt (Vajpayee's Govt.) and played politics at high level. This happened when YSR made Ramoji Rao naked and ran through the streets to the IT to pay the Income Tax. Aa rooju choodaali mana Ramoji thatha paatlu. IT Office mundhu andharu vaalla Eenadu staff ne addupetti, migatha journalists ni evvarini photos theeyaniyyakunda cheesukunnaru. Kaani appudu thelisi vuntadhi vaadiki.....Eenaadu ni addam pettukoni yentha mandhi ibbandhi pettado...vaalla andhari baadha. Eenadu Group had to sell lot of shares to Reliance for immediate cash to pay to IT Dept.
