The film will hit the sets from January 2014. Vijay and Samantha are supposed to pair up in Thalaivaa but Amala Paul bagged the chance as the latter was busy with her prior committed films. AR Murugadoss will wield the megaphone for the film with Vijay in the lead, after their recent successful movie Thuppakki.
