[b]Story:[/b]

Kundan (Dhanush) is a Tamil Brahmin who settles in Benaras and hell falls for Zoya (Sonam Kapoor). To win Zoya’s love, Kundan even cuts his wrist and the love blossoms in between them. After coming to know about this incident, Zoya’s father sends her off from Benaras to their relatives place. From that day, Kundan has nothing in mind but Zoya, he waits for her return. What happens thereafter should be watched on the big screen.


[b]Analysis:[/b]

Raanjhanaa is an answer for everyone who has wondered when Dhanush has won national award for his film Adakulam. Set in the backdrop of Banaras, there is no dull moment in the first half of the movies and this part is filled with some funny and love scenes. The chemistry between Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor in the film is very different. Dhanush has excelled with his performance and he made every frame look like a lively one.

Even if there are any loop holes in the movie, we haven’t even started talking about the biggest asset of ‘Ranjhanaa’ i.e. AR Rahman. Soothing music, wonderful background score made the film even more special. Overall, it’s a dream debut for Dhanush in Bollywood with this film and this movie will remain as one the best films in the careers of Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor.

[b]Technical Aspects:[/b]

Music & BGM by AR Rahman needs a special appreciation as they are the soul for the film. Natraj Subramaniam and Vishal Sinha were able to capture the beautiful locations of Benaras with their lens. Editing by Hemal Kothari is good. Anand L Rai has once again scored good marks as a director.

[b]Performances:[/b]
It’s a cake walk character for Dhanush and people who have seen his earlier movies will understand that. For the first timers, Dhanush has entertained in each and every frame. Sonam Kapoor improved a lot and she looked apt for the character. Abhay Deol’s extended cameo was good and the actor looked charming. Swara Bhaskar and Ayyub have provided the comic relief.
