1) Not Proper Resume
Resume lo project decription takkuva
responsiblities ekkuva vunadli
first (top) project ki good reference vundali
rasina majority responsiblities meeda command vundali

2) Changing technologies in ahurry to get the job faster
Don't change the technologies too often by listening to others who say this is good that is good
problem will be Point#1 will be diffcult to handle

3) Not looking for right positions to apply
ppl tend to ignore if it 3 month or 1 month project...
when on bench ...don't do that
when searching job portals..often ppl not sure , which one to pick
so try to apply as many form all the job portals.
like dice.com , indeed.com , criaglist

4) Not fully preparing for interviews
this is some thing indivuals shold take care

5) Restricted to certain areas
Desis biggest advantage is can relocate from CA to Boston
so be flexible to move even if it is for a short term project and expenses are not paid...experience is important
[/quote]agreed man....

1) first point naaku doubt vayya....vendors want to see the clients requirements in their resume...so we have to change the resume as per the clients requirements....resposibilities lo client chuse key words petithe gaani resume short list avvatledhu

5) point 5 is ok for unmarried people...for married this is kind of tough

Another thing is Billing(This one of the most painful topic)
I totally agree majority contract employees are ill treated and were used badly
but if there is choice we know what to do
if we think choices are limited just don't think of it

when on bench compromise to max ..then once on project ...we know how to handle..(then look for a better job and jump)

Nothing wrong in adding the buzz words but don't change the shape of the project and responsibilities where u cannot answer

here are some tricks..
1) some times we add certain things which we may not be confident and just read the theory
and in interview if the interviewer asks Q(s) on that ..if we cannot answer it ..try to bring me back to the once which we can ans.

for Ex: if some one asks a tough Q on one of my responsibilities or ..the forced addition by vendor
then simple answer(if don't know the ans) in fact i worked on the other module and another developer worked on this and i helped in some areas and i am confident of this (tech) even though i don't have the ans handy
coz i worked more on other tech(which we r comfortable at) that way at least we r showing some sincerity as well trying to bring him to ur strengths
