I am looking for a formula which should return me rows when SerialNum = somenumber or SerialNum IS NULL. [/background][/size]
[size=3][background=transparent]
This is what i am using to achieve that(Last line is of interest here)[/background][/size][size=3][background=transparent]
{ORDR.CANCELED} <> "Y" and
(if (InStr ({?Pm-?Project},".") < 5) then
{RDR1.U_Project} = Mid({?Pm-?Project},1,InStr ({?Pm-?Project},";")-1)
else
({RDR1.U_Project} = Mid({?Pm-?Project},1,InStr ({?Pm-?Project},";")-1)) and
[size=5]({RDR1.SerialNum} = Mid ({?Pm-?Project}, InStr ({?Pm-?Project},";") + 1) OR IsNull({RDR1.SerialNum}))[/size])[/background][/size]
[size=3][background=transparent]
There is no error in the formula but this simply doesnt return rows for which serianum is null. I dont know why?[/background][/size][size=3][background=transparent]
Can someone see something wrong with this.[/background][/size]

I got what you are saying, kani adi work avvatledu bro......null is not a keyword in crystal reports formula, so you are comparing a number with an unrecognized format antondi......

ya try chesa.......error vastundi.....bcoz condition turns out to be

[color=#282828][font=helvetica, arial, sans-serif][size=5]{RDR1.SerialNum} = TRUE[/size][/font][/color]
[color=#282828][font=helvetica, arial, sans-serif][size=5]{RDR1.SerialNum} = FALSE[/size][/font][/color]

did you check if there are actual nulls in the rows.. ante.. probably empty strings lantivi emana unayemo ani check chesava.. instead of null values... and

thanks for your replies guys.....I figured it out.......

What i am doing in else part is

else
(x) and ((y) or (z))

I changed it to

else
((x) and (y) OR (x) and (z))

syntax mistake...... F@#da F@#da
