[size=4][color=#37404E]Watched Balupu yesterday along with 7 other family members. A few positive reviews around the web, did play a role in in pulling myself along with others to go to the theater. Since so may seemed to have enjoyed the comedy (there were a couple of decent scenes), "ఎవ్వరి మనోభావాలూ దెబ్బ తినకుండా ఉండాలంటే", all I can say is, I want to seriously retire from watching this kind of cinema! [/color]

[color=#37404E]Since I lov[/color][color=#37404E]e Telugu cinema, let me be more specific about "this kind of cinema". "First half is divided between a silly comedic love track and successfully hiding the hero's violent past. Interval "Bang": The real face of the hero is revealed. Seriously! Does it even count as a "bang"? An extended flashback with whole bunch of blood and gore. Cut back to climax where they settle the score." [/color][/size]


[size=4][color=#37404E]Disclaimer: This is not to insult anybody who participated in the making of the movie or anyone who enjoyed themselves during the film. This is purely a notice of my retirement from watching such cinema, with a clear understanding that this is not going to change anything.[/color] [/size]

[b]I have to differ with u on this Siva ... Pl note that we are not incapable of making different cinema but as u know its a commercial medium and we have to please the majority to recover the cost of production which has gone higher these days.. We as writers are scared to experiment on producer's and the buyer's money.. Unfortunately majority of the audience carry different taste unlike yours and we have to respect the majority. If u have noticed such experiments like Autograph etc.. have failed at the box office miserably. Balupu turned out to be the biggest grosser for Raviteja in America. It crossed all his previous collections in 3 days.. As a writer of Balupu I'm not proud my writing but definitely I'm happy for entertaining the majority audience.. I'm sure soon it's going to change and u will see the cinema of ur liking.. But for us the show must go on.. Like Vidya balan says in dirty picture "it's Entertaiment , Entertainment and Entertainment ".[/b]

Sir, firstly, I have nothing to disagree with what you said. I have always admired your forthrightness and I know it takes a lot to say "As a writer of Balupu I'm not proud my writing but definitely I'm happy for entertaining the majority audience". This is a vicious circle that none of us seem to break out of and I totally agree with you that it is not due to the lack of talent. I am one hell of an optimist that I do believe that better Telugu cinema is on its way! I was just tired of the format of this story and venting my frustration out.
