F-1 Opt Question.. Please Help

i'm transititioning from F-1 student to F-1 OPT... I was told by international students office that OPT is not a status and my status is still F-1.
visa renewal ki chennai lo appointment tesukundam anukunna.. but DROPBOX ane facility undi telisindi.. it can used by those who already got the visa from chennai and biometric data icheste appointment akkarledu...eppudante appudu velli documents ichesi ravachu annaru.. so velli ichesi vacha


but my question is: since I'm still on F-1 can I avail this dropbox facility? akkada unna vallu waste fellows la unnaru.. naa documents tesukunnaru but vadiki OPT ani ardam ayinattu ledu... general ga F-1 renewal anukunattu unnadu.. naa EAD card kuda tesukoledu.. so, do I have to go again to dropbox? can i schedule a new appointment still with the same fee as earlier?

rules change from time to time...

aina why you are expanding f1 visa.. while you already on opt ??? i dont think they can expand your f1 visa ..when your education is done !

athaniki courses pending vundi vunte .. he could have gone to expand.. but akkada opt teeskunnadu anta..

he is in assumption opt is still a visa.. it is not..

so adhi realise ayyi f extension pettukunnadu

Nee F! visa stamping expire ayyaka .. OPT vasthey.. if you stay within the country you are safe.

If you are travellign outside the country , you need to get a visam stamped.. but it was never gruaranteed as the purpose of your F1 visa.. is already completed.

your OPT - Optional Practical Training.. is not mandatory requirement to give you a F1 Visa..

@thread stater -- don't worry you will get it... Drop box is valid for F1 extension, unless you are in same univ. .... I am not sure,if it is the same on OPT. If your visa is expired, when you are still pursuing your master's (same UNIV on what you stamped for) then you are eligible for Visa waiver program...
