Surya: Surya was terrific in the powerful police offer role. The way he carried out the role was an effortless and flawless. His performance and screen presence are the soul and the main plus point for the film.

Others: Anushka was just present for song and didn't had much to do. Hansika was fine . Rahman and Mukesh risi were apt, Danny Sapani was okay in the main villain role. Santhanam brought few laughs, Vivek was not utilised to his fullest. Nazar was hardly seen,Vijaykumar, mansoor ali khan and others all were okay.

Technical Departments:

Story-Screenplay-Direction: Story line is routine and wafer thin line, singam depends more on screenplay/direction. Screenplay is not good initially and takes it time to settle down, it pickps once the hero's identity is revealed and moves on same good pace till the interval. Second half also continues in the same way but had ups and downs . As a director hari was successul in elevating the heroism in some scenes and also in writing racy screenplay, but the game between hero and villain was one sided and that lack of strong villain against hero was the main minus point for the film unlike the first part . And he wasted much time in the hero's undercover episode and that resulted in excessive run time.

Other Departments: Dialogues were apt, Camera work was fine . Music is weakest part of the film, Devisri prasad rarely gives an album where even one song is not good, and also BGM Was bad except for places. Editor could not do much becuase of lag in screenplay. Fights are good.

My Rating: 6/10

Analysis : Singam is an out and out mass movie, Surya 's terrific performance, racy screenply (though drags at places) are it's plus points. Works well for hardcore mass movie lovers.
