Just because you are on the opposite end of the spectrum of parent-children relationship spectrum, doesn't make you right.

Unless you outgrow your parents, you can never succeed in life ani realise ayyi, 12th taravatha total ga cut chesanu. They are fine with it, although I visit them twice an year.

The only way parents can influlence their children positively is not by checking on them or advising them all the time, but be an example of how to live.

unfortunately in real life, many indian parents aren't mature enough to handle their kids and keep rubbing 'good habits' 'morals' etc when they themselves act immorally in a lot of occasions which the child notices. Its hard to expect your kid to listen to what you say when you are inconsistent and clueless about the world yourself.
