First news of the morning, is that Australia have made a couple of changes to their XI. First of all, Ed Cowan is out of the side. He looked so out of sorts at Trent Bridge that Australia haven't given him a second chance, he's gone and Usman Khawaja replaces him. The other change for the Aussies is Ryan Harris replacing Mitchell Starc. I suppose Harris is only going to be fit for so long so get him in while you can!

10.25 Five minutes ahead of the usual schedule, the captains are out there for the toss. Praying to win the call and bat first surely on this glorious morning.

Michael Clarke calls heads, it lands a tail so England have won the toss and will bat first. There is a change in their team, Steven Finn misses out and Tim Bresnan comes in. Clarke would, of course, battled first, and confirms the team changes, Khawaja for Cowan and Harris for Starc.

10.40am The players are lined up in front of the pavilion ready and waiting for our special guest, who is, of course, the most special of all guests, Her Majesty The Queen. The Royal Standard has been raised above the home dressing room, the MCC members are on their feet, and we await the Monarch of the United Kingdom, her Territories and the Commonwealth. What a moment for these players. Ashton Agar, for example, no idea he would be on the tour no so long ago and now he's at Lord's meeting the Queen. Crowds packing behind the pavilion for a view. And here she comes out to bat down the steps of the pavilion, accompanied by the president of MCC. She pauses to talk to Tim Robinson the fourth umpire, obviously a word about DRS.

Bell ringing duties at Lord's always go to a famous ex-player and today it is the turn of legendary Australian Steve Waugh.
