I agree, there have been some unnecessarily arrogant comments from the Andhra side.

yeah, that's why i have pointed out that Andhra region has similar literacy rates, so its not that only TG people have been discriminated. We just don't spend enough on education and healthcare and sanitation. We should learn from Travancore kings, and not from idiot Nizams and the Brits.

Lets hope separate TG will be prosperous like the people dreamed it would be. I'm sure with a few adjustments (initially harder), Andhra will be very prosperous. Not sure about Rayalaseema though. I'm from there :)

I wouldn't be too harsh on the Nizams however, as lot of what hyderabad is today was built by them, Universities, colleges, Hospitals, even the Assembly building is from the Nizams. To do this they might have taxed the people more, but I dont know, who am I to judge something that I have not seen.

You still brush aside the fact that TG literacy is similar to Andhra rates. Nizams may have built Univ, colleges, hospitals, but the results aren't there to see, like in Travancore and mysore states which have very confident, and educated people.

Why did TG people cede so much space to Andhra if they were so confident after Nizam gave up Hyd? Its because they've been subjucated for so long that they thought the Andhra people can't be as bad as the Nizam. And they were right. Nobody can be as bad as Nizam. Today, TG and Andhra have almost equal indices on health, malnutrition, etc.. Check out NSS reports.

So no, there's no evidence to show that Nizam was a great ruler. Some of his actions, lack of governance are primary reasons for the lack of confidence of Telangana people.

Hyd was built with heavy investments to its infra. It'll be disingenuous to claim that lot of Hyd already existed since the Nizam. I'll try to dig out the infra investments and if they were bond financed or from urban plan budget.

10s of thousand crores have been pumped into Hyd at the expense of other cities in AP.

Its not the Nizams who built Hyd, but everyone in AP. I mean, including TG and Rayalaseema :) It was 'our' capital. Nizams only cared about themselves. They were among the richest men, ruling a very depressed state.

Plenty of books have been written on the state of Hyderabad and the circumstances in which it had to relenquish it to India. none of them speak about the state in glowing terms.

To me, Andhra is another Gujarat in the making, after the Telangana leash is finally cut off.

And also emerge as a strong language based state like TN.

It'll be difficult for Telangana to reclaim 4000 yr old Telugu literature when most of it is produced by people from seemandhra.

Good times for Andhra.
