Hi all,

I regularly follow this site and found it interesting and informative. Keep up the spirit y'all.. By the way, I'm taara and I'am badly i need of an advice on which software course to take up...

we have applied for h1 this year ( moved to USA on H4).. I finished my MBA ( marketing) in India and I worked for a telecom company for a span of 1 and a half year...got married and moved to usa... I have almost zero knowledge on software courses and no knowledge on programming at all. can you please suggest which is the best course to take up now... I 'am yet to get approval on my H1 and If I get it, I need to be on the run for a job.

All your suggestions are valuable and important. Also appreciate if anyone can guide me on the basic software courses which I need to know before jumping onto a decision.

My suggestion is its better to learn little bit of coding or programming which will help your career or look for a job in your core field.

Well, In all the cruft, a shiny little nugget of words. Get familiar with N/W or H/W or Linux, then try to know about various technologies, learn scripting. Coming to S/W programming: Programming, for the most part, is related to software engineering, if you learn programming or coding you can do well in S/W industry. S/W industry is full of coding and programming. It's not difficult to learn if you are interested. Moreover if you are not interested you can also look up in your core field

Now you have to decide what salary you are looking for and job satisfaction. It should take you three or four years to climb the salary ladder to about $80k. It all depends on your hardwork and darn luck.
