Maruti Media House Release date:

August 2, 2013 Genre: Rom-com Censor: A

Story:
Krishna (Prince) is an engineering student who wants to have a perfect girlfriend (Without any affairs in the past) and that girl should be a virgin. In order to find one, Krishna hits on Lalita aka Lola (Manasa) and Anuradha (Dimple). After some time, both Lola and Anuradha comes to know about Krishna's plan and they put him in a fix. Who did Krishna really loved? Will Krishna get a perfect girl? Answer for both these questions is 'Romance'.
Analysis:
After seeing the name card of Maruti on the posters, audience can easily understand that 'Romance' will be a youthful entertainer with some adult comedy. Debutant director 'Darling' Swamy has selected the same concept for 'Romance'. So what is good about 'Romance'? Definitely, this film is not for the A center (Multiplex crowd) audience. 'Romance' starts with Prince narrating a story to a local goon and the story happens to be his real life incident. Comedy is good in parts and Dimple is a major asset for the film. Her curvaceous figure and oomph factor will be definitely a visual feast for the audience. However, story loses its tempo by the interval time and all of a sudden everything seemed to be flat.
So, what is bad about 'Romance'? Dialogue writer 'Darling' Swamy has made his debut as a director with this film and one will expect lot of punch dialogues and a tight screenplay from this debutant and this is where the director has completely failed. Agreed that lot of dialogues have been changed in the eleventh hour due to the pressure from the censor board, but those changed lines were just average. The hostel episode where the girls pair up and dance was not up to the mark and might irritate the audience. Some might definitely feel that the director has portrayed the girls living in hostels in a very poor light. Songs were ok and 'Anu Anu' song was well choreographed. On a whole, in spite of lots of loop holes, 'Romance' might have an edge at the box-office window, as the theaters were empty without any films for the past 3 weeks and the screens will be occupied by Pawan Kalyan's 'Attarintiki Daredi' only on August 9th.

Technical Aspects:
Cinematography by Prabhakar Reddy is good. Music by Sai Karthik is ok and the all the songs were well choregraphed. Editing is just ok. Dialogues by 'Darling' Swamy were good in parts but he tried to imitate Maruti in terms of direction. Productions values of Good Cinema looked grand.

Performances:
Prince looked apt for the character and has done his job. Dimple looked very glamorous and it’s a decent debut for her in Telugu. Manasa was ok but she didn't look like a heroine. Sai did his best with some punch dialogues in the first half and rest of the artists were ok.

Positives:
Theme (B & C center audience might like it)
Dimple
Negatives:
Director tried to imitate Maruti and failed
Second Half
Screenplay

Punch line: Only for regular movie lovers who love to watch each and every film.
