[/size][/i][size=4]][size=4]NEW DELHI: Rising Indian shuttler PV Sindhu stunned second seed [url="http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Wang-Yihan"]Wang Yihan[/url] of China 21-18, 23-21 to storm into the quarterfinals of women's singles competition at the [url="http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/World-Badminton-Championships"]World Badminton Championships[/url] in Guangzhou, China on Thursday.

Earlier on Wednesday, 10th seeded Sindhu overcame a fighting [url="http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Kaori-Imabeppu"]Kaori Imabeppu[/url] of Japan to secure her place in the third round of the championships.

Sindhu, who won the [url="http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Malaysia"]Malaysia[/url] Grand Prix in May this year, had to sweat it out for one hour and 11 minutes to prevail over unseeded Imabeppu 21-19, 19-21, 21-17.

World number 12 PV Sindhu, who made her debut at the World Championship, had beaten the world number 32 Japanese in [url="http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Japan-Open"]Japan Open[/url] last year[/size][/size][/size]
