Power problem is looming large among the people of Telangana as it senses a serious problem for Telangana after the bifurcation of the state. With Congress likely to split state, Telangana is likely to face around 2,000 MW power shortage, after the division. There are 19 major power plants in Andhra Pradesh, including both thermal and hydel, and total generating capacity from these plants is 16,350 MW and Telangana generates only 58.50 MW. While the demand is 56 per cent on an average in T-region, it need to buy Power from Seemandhra at a whopping cost. Now, only 36 per cent MW capacity is available and hence there is a great demand that needs to be resolved. It is learnt that producing power with thermal plants is too costly. Of the approximate 2,000 MW we required we must buy from the market that would cost the State to the extent of Rs.8000 Crore per annum.

Also, T-region is dependent on the hydel plants which directly rely on monsoon climate. If the inflow is heavy in these reservoirs the plants can be generate sufficient power as the hydel plants have around 2,200 MW installed capacity. However, due to lack of rains they just produce 400 to 500 MW per year - 20 per cent of the total capacity.

New state Telangana is going to be gloom and a pal of gloom descended on the future of Multi National Companies located in Hyderabad and employees depending on this. With serious power crisis looming large, it is doubted that many more companies may shut down and big wig business people, honchos may pack their bags to AP and other states of country. if at all Congress bifurcates the state, and if KCR takes over the reigns of Telangana, then TG is definitely fcuked up man.. another Bihar or Jharkhand with heavy issues of naxals and under-development and illiteracy. Because congress and KCR both wants the TG public to remain illiterate, so that they will always believe them. But, Congress will not bifurcate the state as I believe... all these things going on today are just a game played by congress to win more seats in TG area, give jaggu an edge in Seemandhra region and get his support for UPA in 2014.

Db lo ne ila unte akkada towns and villages lo situation ela untundho oohinchuko... that is all what congress want. make ppl fight among themselves, so that they will forget other factors such as development, roads, jobs, employment and all those and they focus on only one point which the congress and KCR wants them to fight - SEPERATE TG . and this will keep on happening forever. as simple as that.
