No. If china gives away the bonds, they can get dollars or gold. (most probably US will never give away gold. they only give dollar bills) and after that, if china stops its exports, It still has its market in the form of Europe, Southern American countries.

yeah, definitely global economy will be disrupted, but the major blow will be to US. Just imagine, you are getting a broom stick in US for 3$, because its imported from China. If US has to manufacture the same broom stick, the rate of that will be 50$ . Do you think US economy can survive such a blow, moreover, US doesn't have any productivity. It depends only on imports. If China stops selling to US or increases the price, first US is going to collapse. Later, rest of the world.

the dollar value decays after the bonds are liquidated or during the process of liquidation, which will minimize the effect on China. Here China is not going out Hassle free, but the major blow will be to US. If china does that, dollar bill is no more useful than tissue papers. China will take a blow, and it has the strength to survive the blow, because of its huge population, consumption is not an issue for them. But US, will go down the gutter.
