*** Government Rules Out Creation Of More States ***

[indent]NEW DELHI: Government has no plans to create new states like [url="http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/topic/Bodoland"][u][color=#0000ff]Bodoland[/color][/u][/url], [url="http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/topic/Gorkhaland"][u][color=#0000ff]Gorkhaland[/color][/u][/url], [url="http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/topic/Vidarbha"][u][color=#0000ff]Vidarbha[/color][/u][/url] or [url="http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/topic/Bundelkhand"][u][color=#0000ff]Bundelkhand[/color][/u][/url] on the lines of the proposed Telangana state, [url="http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/topic/Lok-Sabha"][u][color=#0000ff]Lok Sabha[/color][/u][/url] was informed today.


"There are no such proposals under consideration of the Government of India at the moment," Minister of State for Home [url="http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/topic/R-P-N-Singh"][u][color=#0000ff]R P N Singh[/color][/u][/url] said in written reply.

Following the Centre's decision to carve out Telangana from [url="http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/topic/Andhra-Pradesh"][u][color=#0000ff]Andhra Pradesh[/color][/u][/url], proponents Bodoland, Gorkhaland, among others, have intensified their agitation for creation of new states.
