bharatvasu Posted August 29, 2013 Report Posted August 29, 2013 An average F1 racer loses about 4kg of weight after each race
Cheeta Posted August 29, 2013 Report Posted August 29, 2013 F1 came in India with huge aspirations & why not? India has always been a sport loving country. Though we have been supporting Cricket like anything but we showed an unmatchable enthusiasm for the first ever F1 in the sub-continent. Crazy fans as ever backed by celebrity limelight. No one can forget Sachin waving checkered flag in first ever Indian F1. But we are not here to discuss all this our motto is to know the reason behind the stated fact. In the high speed races, an F1 car reaches speed above 250 km/hr. A very high speed indeed. As Science says when Speed increases, Mass decreases. This comes from well known equation given by Einstein: e=mc2 . e = Energy, m = Mass, c = Speed of Light = 3,00,000 km/sec Since Energy can neither be created nor be destroyed, it remains constant. So, an increase in speed of Driver will account for decrease in his weight to balance the Energy equation. Speculation: The speed of an F1 driver is just a chunk of speed of light, that’s why he loses 3-4 kg of weight. If a driver would reach the speed of light than his weight would become zero. So none of them drives at such high speed. The bitter truth: If our speed decreases i.e. we don’t move much, then our weight is tend to increase. A perfect example of this is the pot-belly of Tiwari. Since, he sits in his chair in office & does not moves much his weight is increasing. After we told him this fact he started running on Treadmill, after working hard & losing around 5 kg of weight his average speed on Treadmill has increased.

sid_22 Posted August 29, 2013 Report Posted August 29, 2013 Immediately before the race and sometimes throughout, drivers absorb huge amounts of water. Failure to do so could bring on dehydration through sweating – the extreme heat found in a Formula One cockpit means drivers can sweat off up to 3kg of their body weight during the course of a race. - F1 Drivers loose approx. 2-3 litres of water during a race - Importance of fluid level in the body has been underlined by sports studies showing that a person losing just 4% of their body weight can lose up to 40% of their psycho-physical capacity. - The average recommended daily fluid intake is four litres (which few common people manage) - The Toyota drivers drink no less than 8 litres in the days preceding very hot races like Australia, Malaysia, and Brazil... - Drivers have a drinking bottle (containing water and mineral salts) installed in the cockpit with a pipe going through their helmet. Capacity around 75cl.
