glamy Posted May 12, 2009 Report Posted May 12, 2009 The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee has ridiculed Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s claims on extending support to the National Democratic Alliance and alleged that Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao was, in fact, against the formation of a separate State. Addressing a press conference here on Monday, APCC spokesmen Paladugu Venkata Rao and N. Tulasi Reddy said the TRS president was keen on keeping the demand for separate Telangana alive rather than working for formation of a separate State. The political future of Mr. Rao would come to a naught once the separate Telangana state would become a reality. Clarify stand Criticising Mr. Rao for his “ridiculous claims” on playing a key role at the national level, they wanted the Left parties to clarify their stand on the Grand Alliance in the light of the latest development. Electoral gains The CPI (M) and the CPI that worked for the formation of the Grand Alliance should realise that the TRS president was reputed for remaining with power centre and this was evident from his decision to ditch the alliance after using it for electoral gains. Mr. Tulasi Reddy criticised the TDP for the ‘false propaganda’ on the outbreak of cholera, gastro enteritis and other diseases and advised the main Opposition to desist from “cheap publicity”. He recalled that 147 cases of cholera, 1.02 lakh cases of diarrhoea, 34,909 cases of gastro enteritis were reported in 1998 when the TDP was in power
