The first three-coach Metro train for the Hyderabad project is ready. The train was rolled out from the Hyundai Rotem factory in Chandwon, Korea. The shipment is expected to reach the Metro Rail main depot at Uppal in the third week of May.
The train roll-out was held in presence of L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad Limited chairman Y.M. Deosthalee and Managing Director and CEO V.B. Gadgil a couple of days ago in Korea. The train was run on a test track at the Hyundai Rotem factory and representatives from Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (MELCO), Japan, Knorr-Bremse, Germany and Hankuk Fibre, Korea; travelled in it during the ceremony.
“It is a historic moment and we are proud to see the train (rolling stock) coming to Hyderabad ahead of the scheduled date, which is a benchmark and a trendsetter,” exclaimed Mr. Deosthalee.
