Ramayya Vastavayya --Review

Genre--Revenge drama

Story and screenplay--- Same old story of killing goons who does bad to hero's family/love/village. Screenplay in first half was entertaining with some adult jokes that evokes laughter out of you and catchy songs which were well choreographed and picturized. Second half was on serious note but has some good comedy scenes (particularly the mimic of shoban babu and krishna), you feel a 10 minute drag in the middle of second half and the part shruthi accepting NTR's love was not convincing enough. Personally I feel second half should have been handled with a better gripping screenplay.One thing which I liked is there is no Brahmanandam's slapstick comedy which I got irritated in AD due to overdose from previous 5 to 6 movies.Harish followed regular 5 point formula intro song with fight + teasing heroine + interval twist + emotional second half + one on one fight with villain.

Music--- Surprisingly Thaman's music was good with bad background score, especially jabilli and nenu eppudaina. I feel Nenu eppudaina song will be the best visual song for 2013, well synced dance moves to the tunes and heroine was gorgeous with picturesque locations.

Characters--

N.T.R- As usual he is already proved as one of the finest actors nothing much to discuss or point out, he tried to be little different from his regular stuff in 1st half which was good.

Samantha-- Nothing to perform and she was not looking good as she used to be before.

Shruthi-- Did well during emotional scenes and was looking pretty. (I feel she is the main heroine i don't understand why they said guest role)

Villain-- I liked his character and his diction

All other character's were ok.

Harish shankar made a safe attempt with an old story using his prowess in dialogue writing.

Overall this movie is neither outstanding nor boring. Definitely this doesn't have a material for an Industry hit, this is a pure time pass flick.
