President Vowed To Push Cir As Soon As Government Is Reopen?

[*][size="-1"]Reportedly, the President stated to the Hispanic media "Univision" yesterday he would pursue an immigration reform vote in the House the "day after" Congress reached an agreement to reopen the government and raise the debt ceiling. However two things are missing in this statement. Firstly the House is not Democratic House but Republican House. His promise is conditioned on the development that the debt ceiling is raised. This also remains an open question. We may add third question. When it comes to Title I and Tile II of the Senate S. 744 and the House Democratic bill H.R. 15 comprehensive immigration bills, the House is equally opposed and divided with bills. The critical related question is "Do we have enough time to work out the compromise and pass the bill before the end of the year?" We have already passed the middle of October and the nation's busiest holidays are approaching. On top of that, those politicians including the incumbent Republican members of the House and the Senate have been growingly obsessed with their chance of winning in party nominations to run for the offices in November 2014 as the primary approaches early next year, and they have been growingly leaning towards the ultra right wing Republican agenda with no rooms for compromise. For the reasons, there was consensus early this year, including this reporter, that unless the CIR passes before the summer recess of the Congress in 2013, the chance for CIR would be slim.[/size]
[*][size="-1"]Granted, for a moment, that this Congress would reopen the government until January 2014 and temporarily raise the debt ceiling until that time. Wouldn't there be deja vu all over again during the next two months when they will indeed have a very limited time because of the holidays? Where will they find the nation's energy and time to direct the nation's total attention to the CIR from the another forthcoming political confrontation between the Republican and Democratic parties on the Obamacare defunding/repeal and debt ceiling? It just does not add up time wise unless the decision they reach within today and tomorrow include complete separation of Obamacare issue from the federal government appropriation issue and extended period of debt ceiling raise that goes beyond January 2014. Since the compromise which the three parties (President, Senate, and House) appear to be working on represents a temporary push-off of the ailing issues until the end of the year in order to reopen the government, the chance for CIR may turn out to be indeed slim....................................! We start hearing a gloomy "Requiem" concert on the radio.[/size]
