Heroines father has done awesome action, it truely shows the cultural difference between east and west. Does anyone know which city in USA this movie was shot? Very good movie allround...

(2011, on Padamati Sandhya Ragam) I was 16 years old, I'd dropped out of high school, I was working at a hardware store and taking acting classes above a liquor store in Bethesda, Maryland. My acting coach, Ralph Tabakin, called me up and said, "There's these Indians in town, and they're looking for a blond-haired, blue-eyed kid to be in their Indian Bollywood movie." And I said, "Ralph, I don't have blue eyes. I can't go." Ralph said, "Well, you got blue eyes now. You go down there and get the part. And I get 10 percent, 'cause I'm acting as your agent in this regard." And I did, and I did. And he did. And I ran around America with a crew of about 30 or 40 Indians and a real stuck-up Indian starlet bitch, and we made this singing, dancing Bollywood-style Romeo-and-Juliet-type love story about an Indian girl and an American boy. And then we all ran off to India, where I lived for six months finishing the film, and it was probably... well, it was definitely a defining experience of my life and career, because I came back to America and... They didn't have money to pay me, so they gave me the RV that we used to make the movie and drive the crew around in. And I sold it, bought a 1969 Camaro, and drove it out to California to be an actor. But I miss all the singing and dancing now that I'm in Hollywood. @lol.
kakatiya Posted December 11, 2015 Report Posted December 11, 2015 పడమటి సంధ్యారాగం సినిమాలో విజయశాంతి తండ్రి పాత్ర వేసిన గుమ్ములూరి శాస్త్రి గారిని మర్చిపోవటం కష్టం. ఆయన సోమవారం రాత్రి (Nov 24, 2008) నిద్రలో తుది శ్వాస వదిలారు. గుమ్ములూరు శాస్త్రి గారు గోదావరి జిల్లాలో గుమ్ములూరి సత్యనారాయణ గారికి జన్నించారు. ఉస్మానియా యూనివర్శిటీ నుండి ఎమ్.ఎస్.సి ని పూర్తి చేసి అక్కడే లెక్చరర్ గా చేరారు. ఆ తర్వాత 1965 లో ఆస్ట్రో ఫిజిక్స్ లో మాస్టర్స్ డిగ్రీ చేయటానికి యు.ఎస్.ఎ వెళ్ళారు. అక్కడే పి.హె.డి కూడా కాలిఫోర్నియా యూనివర్శిటీ లో పూర్తి చేసారు.అలాగే ఐదేళ్ళపాటు అక్కడే ఆయన ఉపాధ్యాయ వృత్తిలో ఉండి తర్వాత ఇంజనీరింగ్ పూర్తి చేసి నోయస్ అండ్ వైబ్రేషన్ స్పెషలిస్ట్ గా వాషింగ్టన్ మెట్రో లో చేరారు. ఇక ఆ తర్వాత మీర్ అభ్దుల్లా అనే మిత్రునితో కలసి జంధ్యాల గారి దర్శకత్వంలో పడమట సంధ్యారాగం(1986) చిత్రాన్ని నిర్మించి అందులో నటించారు. టామ్,విజయశాంతి జంటగా చేసిన ఈ సినిమా మంచి కమర్షియల్ సక్సెస్ నే సాధించింది.ఆ తర్వాత చాలా గ్యాప్ తీసుకుని అటు అమెరికా ఇటు ఇండియా అనే చిత్రాన్ని డైరక్ట్ చేసి నంది అవార్డ్ సాధించారు. అయితే ఆ చిత్రం భాక్సాఫీస్ ని మెప్పించలేకపోయింది. ఆ తర్వాత ఆయన మీర్ అభ్దుల్లా తో కలిసి మరో సారి పడమట సంధ్యారాగం కి సీక్వెల్ మరో సంధ్యారాగం ప్లాన్ చేసారు. అయితే ఆ పనులు ఇంకా ప్రారంభం కాలేదు.కుటుంబపరంగా ఆయనకు భార్య కనకదుర్గ,ఓ కూతురు,ఇద్దరు మనవలు ఆయనకు ఉన్నారు. ఇక విధ్యాధికుడుగా,మంచి వ్యక్తిగా,వక్తగా,నిర్మాతగా,నటుడుగా తనకంటూ ఈ ప్రపంచంలో స్ధానం ఏర్పాటు చేసుకున్న శాస్త్రి గారి మరణం ఆయన మిత్రులకు,కుటుంబీకులకే కాక అభిమానించే అందరికీ తీరని లోటే.
