kakatiya
Taking a small temple of Lord Krishna ('Vennamudda Krishnudu' or Gopinatha temple) located at the foot of the fort as a shield, Iskcon wants to convert the entire fortress and neighbouring areas into an international religious centre. It has presented a detailed project report (DPR) to develop a spiritual and heritage centre at Rs 150 crore to the authorities. Stories doing the round suggest that several public representatives who bought off lands in the vicinity of Kondaveedu want to boost the real estate market by systematically supporting the 'developmental' plans of Iskcon. Sources said Iskcon is demanding 150 acres at the foot and another 100 acres atop the hill fort. "It wanted to develop an international school, hospital, theme parks, water parks, heritage centre, museum, food courts and multimedia theatres," a source said. Sources said Iskcon first approached the district administration with a proposal to renovate the Krishna temple at the foot of the hill about six months ago. But later it started pressing for land on the hilltop. Archaeological officials were in for a rude shock when Iskcon changed the name of a village at the foot of Kondaveedu fort, Chenghizkhanpet, to Cheng-Iskconpet. bangarubullodu
Kondaveedu used to be as strong as himalayas for southern rulers, especially gajapathi rulers, krishnadevarya, vengi rulers and qutub shahi dynasty. Its history is unbelievably praised even by british and foreigners. For complete story of Krishna, Guntur districts as recorded by British, see for yourself. bangarubullodu
it is brilliant to know the histroy how so many regions around kondaveedu and how places around guntur, vijayawada have got their names, like: The name of Kapilesvara Gajapati is preserved by the village Kapilesvarapuram in Nuzvidu. He was succeeded by vidyadhara Gajapati, who built vidyadharapuram and constructed a reservoir at Kondapalle. His wife Bhavanamma and his two daughters Muttyalamma and Paidamma gave their names to Bhavalnipuram, Muttiyalammapadu and Paidurpadu in Bezvida Taluq. Ibrahimpatnam named on Ibrahim from nizam dynasty etc.. :3D_Smiles_153:
