there are some very good documentaries to make people realise how grateful they should be for an opportunity to just live!! 

 

show them how small kids die in africa due to malnutrition, if it is ur friend take them to a community service to help kids, give them 5 pots and plant different seeds and show them the difference how each pot grows with lack of something like less water in one , less light on one and less nutrients in one...and show how healthy the plant with every thing grows..and explain the gist that life is not just one ingredient rather its a mix of parents friends inner happiness and helping others. Make them or ask them or push them to realize where they find inner happiness and what they find it in..if u cant better get a counselor.
