bond420 Posted March 24, 2010 Author Report Posted March 24, 2010 Toss Shane Warne is wearing blue, as opposed to the away beige for Rajasthan Royals. Kumar Sangakkara has won the toss, and decided to bowl first. "There is a bit of dew around, which should get heavier." Shane Warne said he would have wanted to bowl too. Quote
bond420 Posted March 24, 2010 Author Report Posted March 24, 2010 Right, Michael Lumb and Naman Ojha to open the Rajasthan Royals. Last time Lumb played, he was caught dead plumb first ball. I promise to stay away Lumb-is-Plumb line even if he manages to do that again. Irfan Pathan will be bowling. Quote
bond420 Posted March 24, 2010 Author Report Posted March 24, 2010 0.1 Pathan to Lumb, no run, back of a length, swinging away from Lumb, left alone 0.2 Pathan to Lumb, no run, slashes at one outside away, is beaten by the swing, will be interesting to see how long the swing lasts 0.3 Pathan to Lumb, no run, fumble by Yuvraj at mid-off, doesn't cost them a run, first time bat met ball tonight 0.4 Pathan to Lumb, FOUR, walks across the stumps, goes against the swing, and manages to clear mid-on 0.5 Pathan to Lumb, no run, square-drive, more like throwing his arms at a wide delivery, finds cover-point 0.6 Pathan to Lumb, FOUR, slower ball, checks his drive, it gets a thick edge, and sails past first slip, and fine of a square third man Quote
bond420 Posted March 24, 2010 Author Report Posted March 24, 2010 Sreesanth to bowl 1.1 Sreesanth to Ojha, 1 no ball, good start - spoke too soon. He is actually too good with the ball straightening outside off and beating Ojha, but he has also over-stepped. Why am I not surprised? 1.1 Sreesanth to Ojha, no run, comes back well, with a bouncer, 138ks, beats him again. You have done well if you manage to beat a batsman on a free hit, and not by bowling a wide 1.2 Sreesanth to Ojha, no run, that's three in three, what a ripper of a legcutter, pitches back of a length, just outside off, and moves ever so slightly away, squaring him up 1.3 Sreesanth to Ojha, FOUR, Oh Sree, couldn't bowl four good deliveries in a row, goes short and wide, and is cut away, and Sangakkara has removed the second slip, which came in just one ball ago 1.4 Sreesanth to Ojha, no run 1.5 Sreesanth to Ojha, FOUR Quote
bond420 Posted March 24, 2010 Author Report Posted March 24, 2010 2.1 Srivastava to Lumb, FOUR, full outside off, slight swing, he throws everything at it, gets a thick edge that clears backward point, and also beats a diving Bisla at third man 2.2 Srivastava to Lumb, 1 run, overthrow, sloppy work by Theron at mid-on, looks to drop to cover and run, is sent back, but Bopara goes for a throw, and Theron at mid-on doesn't bend quick enough to get his body behind it 2.3 Srivastava to Ojha, FOUR, nice pick-up shot, leg-stump line, and he just flicks it over midwicket, all power comes in that last instance, through the wrists 2.4 Srivastava to Ojha, 1 run, angling across him, and steered away to third man Quote

bond420 Posted March 24, 2010 Author Report Posted March 24, 2010 4.1 Srivastava to Fazal, 1 run, looks to square-cut, gets the bottom part of the bat, gets a single 4.2 Srivastava to Lumb, no run, steps down the track, and wafts and misses 4.3 Srivastava to Lumb, FOUR, pick-up shot, nicely done, takes it from off, makes sweet connection, and there is no intention of keeping it down 4.4 Srivastava to Lumb, FOUR, short, wide and he duly punishes it, powerfully cut and nicely placed wide of point 4.5 Srivastava to Lumb, 2 runs, pulled away, into the gap on the leg side, gets a couple 4.6 Srivastava to Lumb, 1 run, slower ball, 92ks, delays his shot, plays with soft hands, gets a single to third man Quote
bond420 Posted March 24, 2010 Author Report Posted March 24, 2010 One of these teams will finish at joint-fourth place tonight. And they began their season horribly. Which just tells us it is a long tournament, and there is a long way to. King's XI Punjab have made one change tonight, bringing Sreesanth back and leaving Ramesh Powar out. Rajasthan Royals have retained the XI that beat Kolkata Knight Riders. Both the teams are coming off wins, and will want to build something resembling momentum. Toss in five minutes. While you wait for the toss, why wait for an iPad when you can have a CricPad, fitted with a music finder and a mockery app among other things? Quote
