distinct Posted October 31, 2013 Author Report Posted October 31, 2013 Where did u place your .bak file.. it should be under backup locaiton which opens up by default when u browse for it.. or else it will throw up that error... also check you have write permissions on the C Drive/System drive of that new server. thankyou

I have changed the path but still same issue am not able to create a new database in my local machine I have copied that .bak file onto my C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10.SQLEXPRESS\MSSQL\Backup but still it says that CREATE DATABASE permission denied in database 'master'. (.Net SqlClient Data Provider)

(.Net SqlClient Data Provider) Do u have DB creation permission on tha tmachine..if not request for it.... even if you are admin..sometimes you dont have DB Creator role provided to your account...check with the DB owner... or else if it is your local machine connect to the SQL server using administrator account and grant write permissions to your account.. it will be under Security>Logins > Rt clk..add new user...your account..left pane..select roles...Server Admin...and that should work..
