Techie Kills Wife, Mom-In-Law

Fed up by the constant ‘harassment’ of his wife, a software engineer allegedly killed her and his mother-in-law, who intervened during a verbal duel, in Secunderabad and later surrendered before police on Thursday.

Sarvanan, (35) who used to work in a Bangalore firm, hit his wife Padmapriya (32) and her mother Parameshwari (56) with a rod at his house in Secunderabad late Wednesday night following an argument. Both died instantly, police said.

The couple got married in 2011. Sarvanan later came to know that Padmapriya, was already married. This led to frequent quarrels between them. Police said that Padmapriya even went to his office and humiliated him in the presence of his colleagues. He lost the job and the family shifted to the city. A few days ago, former husband of Padmapriya sent a court notice to her.

When Sarvanan asked Padmapriya about her first marriage and why she did not inform him before their marriage, Padmapriya again insulted him and his parents. She also lodged several complaints against Sarvanan in Bangalore.

On Wednesday she again allegedly abused Sarvanan’s parents. Vexed with her behaviour, Sarvanan with the help of his uncle Angamuthu hit her with an iron rod and when her mother intervened, he also smashed her head killing them on the spot.

After the double murder, Sarvanan and his uncle surrendered before police in the early hours. Police registered case under Section 302 (murder) against the duo and arrested them.
