What is deployment?
Deployment means installing the j2ee application on jvm (basically this application is developed by java developers )

Deployments types in IBM websphere?

Ways of deplyment depends on version of WebSphere Application server you are using.

But 5.X and Above provide following ways

1. Using Admin Console

2. Hot Deployment droping jsp files, with enabled class reloading (not recommanded for production)

3. Using Jacl n jaython Scripts

4. using WSAdmin command

5. Rapid Deployment (feature available at WAS 6)

There are three types of packages in websphere which are
Express,base and ND(network deployment)
Express and base are stand alone topologies that means u can deploy 'n number of applications in one jvm but u can't create new jvm

The difference for both are
License agreement . For express u can install product in one or two systems

For base u can install 'n' number of systems

Coming to ND ..it will provide the network topology that means u can create as many jvm's here u can achieve load balancing, failover and clustering

What are the profiles available in WAS7?
1)apllication server profile
2)custom profile
3)cell(dmgr+appserver )
4)dmgr

Ps:under management : dmgr, job manager ,administrative agent available

Dmgr:it provides single point administration for multiple servers by using this we can manage multiple profiles it needs 30mb to install

Custom:it is managed profile 10mb

Job manager : by using this we can schedule the tasks
