BANGALORE: The condition of Jyothi Uday, 44, who was attacked inside an ATM on Tuesday, is stable, doctors at BGS Global Hospitals said. The banker, a resident of RR Nagar, underwent multiple surgeries on Tuesday evening and is under observation in the neuro intensive care unit.

The attacker's heavy blows on her head and face resulted in a chip of her skull piercing her brain. "The patient underwent a major neurosurgical operation. The bone fragments inside the brain were removed. The brain coverings were repaired, and the fractured skull bones were reset," said Dr NK Venkataramana, chief neurosurgeon.

Plastic surgeons were summoned to repair Jyothi's nose, which the attacker had sliced. "Plastic surgeons reconstructed the nose and treated her facial injuries. The patient is conscious and speaking. Her right side is paralyzed. She's being closely monitored, and given blood transfusion," he added. Jyothi will have to undergo multiple sessions of physiotherapy, said doctors. She's in a position to talk but has been advised not to stress herself, they added.

She is in pain, husband says

Uday Kumar, Jyothi's businessman husband, said his wife is in pain, but recovering. "I met her in the morning and she is alright. She suffered two serious injuries on her head. She's tired so I haven't been able to have a proper conversation with her. But she did say the man wasn't known to her and kept asking her for money," he said.

Uday, who was in Bidadi when Jyothi was attacked, said he got a call from police informing him about the attack. "I contacted one of our neighbours, who helped us shift her between hospitals," he said. "I think security should be provided at ATMs so that common people feel safe," he said.

KS Vimala, a colleague who visited Jyothi, said: "She's been working with us for more than a decade. Jyothi is a great colleague and friend. We hope she gets well soon and is with her daughter again."

Jyothi's three-year-old daughter is now with relatives. Her father was from Trivandrum and mother from Udupi.

yah anduke doubt anna ..coz he is showing towards ATM and she trying to push him and run way?

my suggestion is under such conditions we should follow the instructions of the criminal ..till we get a real chance  attack/escape or ask for help ...till then be cooperative and make sure to carefully observe the person which will help draw his sketch by police(in this case they have video so no problem or else it is hard to catch him)

unless u feel ur self stronger than the person ....wait for ur moment
