narsayya Posted November 27, 2013 Author Report Posted November 27, 2013 nuvvu em business start chesav enduku workout avaledu nee investment enta/? Nov ocha.. electronic manufacturing/ design pettalani Chennai, Vizag vella. Mostly logistics issues, raw material procurement, lack of local demand (bangalore startups prototype designs ki kooda china vellayi), poor margins, inability to access my own outside funds without interference from RBI changing rules every week lol, poor workforce especially in AP, TN was okay. I just hired a shed in chennai finally, and broke even by fulfilling a couple of manufacturing jobs and decided its not worth wasting my time for peanuts by July. I'd invested 2.75 crores over 3 months and broke even, by reselling the machines. Also it became clear that I won't be settling down in India after marriage, I had no incentive to keep it running. So I just shut it down. Anthaku mundu.. I ran a light factory in Singapore, Thailand for 4 years.

I think you should have tried food processing or something related to agri/sea food...liquid ekkuva undaali daaniki
narsayya Posted November 27, 2013 Author Report Posted November 27, 2013 thats amazing.. its bad that our state missed an investment opportunity.. how do you get the contracts? manufacturing jobs ante assembly jobs aa/? My timing was wrong. Although there's electronic hardware policy and all in AP (very impressive one on paper), the biggest problem is the lack of local demand. Govt brought in a policy that said 30% of all govt electronic purchases must be made locally, but it wasn't implemented. I was counting on it, given the poor private sector demand. The export markets are completely saturated. I was able to get contracts with my former contacts in China, etc. But it was too much work for about 3% margin. I think the electronics manufacturing wave has passed India long back. It's futile to try and revive it now here. India can directly jump on the nanotech bandwagon. I'll try to make better investments in nanotech in India in the future. However, I'm open to reinvesting in EMS again in India.. if I find someone to run it and there's enough demand.
