A strong demand is being raised by the Y S Jaganmohan Reddy camp that the state government recommend YSR’s name for Bharata Ratna for his immense contribution to the welfare of people and for providing a strong leadership to the state.

Though the demand has not been so strong as yet, Jagan is most likely to raise the demand during his tour to all parts of the state to console the families of post-YSR shock death victims. One has to wait and see how the government reacts to that.

In the meantime, the Union government is going to pay rich tributes to late chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy by releasing a postal stamp in his memory.

New Delhi sources said the postal stamp is likely to be released on September 2, to commemorate the first death anniversary of YSR, who died in a helicopter crash on the same day last year. The state government is learnt to have received a communiqué from the Centre to that effect.
