Few months back the rate went from $11 to $300 in a span of just 10 days and later settled down to $125 and settled down...

I suggest you to wait for few days..

 

Alternatively you can invest in other crypto currencies like LiteCoin ,which is around $37 now

I sold some few months back when the price gone from $40 to $180 in  3 days..I still have some..I will not selling them now...let it go up or down..cos I have mined them myself around 2 yrs back and I don't like to sell them

 

I don't think selling bitcoins to make dollars is the point of bitcoin. Even if you sell, you have to buy it back at some point. The beauty is in frictionless currency.

In the end the purpose of currency is for exchange....It doesn't matter offloading some and booking profits,when I have few hundreds !

good luck though. I still think bitcoin has its uses, but not as an investment unit. It may be its most peripheral use.

yeah. alternate currency is the wrong idea for bitcoin.

 

its simply frictionless money that can bought/sold. It resembles a stock in this regard.
