Rosiah is just a passing cloud - Vundavalli

Rajahmundry Congress MP Vundavalli Arun Kumar, who got a dressing down from Chief Minister K Rosaiah in the Assembly lobbies on Friday for writing open letters on various issues, did not hide his disappointment about the Chief Minister.

Vundavalli gave an explanation to Rosaiah in the latter’s chambers within minutes, but he was terribly hurt over the way the CM’s Office leaked the entire episode to the media, showing him in poor light. Apparently, he felt that Rosaiah had humiliated him because he was a staunch loyalist of former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and supporter of his son Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.

He came to the Assembly premises again on Saturday only to give clarifications to the media and take an indirect dig at Rosaiah. “He is a senior politician and has every right to question me for writing letters to him. It was out of affection towards me. I wrote several letters to YSR as well, but he had never uttered a word against me. I sent copies of the letters to the media, because the issues I raised are of public importance,” he said.

In the same breath, Vundavalli said though Rosaiah was a seasoned politician, he could not be compared to YSR. “Rosaiah is doing well. But what he lacks is the glamour, zeal and punch of YSR. May be it is because of his old age,” he said, in a subtle criticism. He also said the Congress party would come back to power in 2014 also with Jagan in the forefront. “Not just Jagan, every Congress leader will strive for the Congress victory,” he said.
