TDP affect: BJP won't support Congress on T-bill

A day after TDP Supremo N. Chandra Babu Naidu had deliberations with BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and BJP's top brass during the swearing in ceremony of Madhya Pradesh's CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, sensational, surprising comments from BJP have come in over splitting of Andhra Pradesh.

BJP, which has been bluntly supporting the formation of Telangana and backing Congress in the division of AP, has apparently changed its stance and took notice of grievances of Seemandhra people. Going by latest reports, BJP is keen on not backing Congress on Telangana bill in parliament which is a major blow to both UPA and T-activists. 

Prakash Javadekar, BJP's official spokesperson who was in Hyderabad recently made an interesting comment. Prakash asked, "Seemandhra is also India and people of Seemandhra are our people. How can we allow the Congress to go ahead with their own political plans ignoring the grievances of Seemandhra people?" 

Also, BJP's national president Rajnath Singh told media in New Delhi, "The BJP is committed to the cause of Telangana, but not the way the Congress is dealing with it now. The BJP will deliver on the statehood once our government is formed in Delhi and it would be acceptable for the people of both Telangana and Seemandhra."

Already parties like Samajwadi Party, Trinamool Congress, NCP, Shivasena are dead against to the bifurcation of AP and now none other than principal opposition BJP opposing the present form of T-bill, proposed by Congress, indications are clear that Telangana will not be reality before 2014 elections. 

It's time for Congress to roll back its decision which was made considering vote-bank politics and to take notice of woes of Seemandhra people. Else, the age-old party will pay its price throughout India.
