He is simply outstanding. Katrina Kaif is smoking hot and mindblowing sexy. Watching her in songs is value for money. She has toned her body with vengeance and sizzled with overflowing attraction quotient. Abhishek Bachchan did his bit as required and walks out with passing marks. Uday Chopra is usual but he gives some ice breakers in between with his Desi humor. Jackie Shroff’s cameo was effective. Tabrett Bethell was sexy and could have been put for better use. Andrew Bicknell was shrewd enough.

Dhoom 3 is a children’s film made for children who’ve never seen a film, writes Raja Sen.

 

Twenty minutes into Dhoom 3, reeling from the assault of cinema so amateurish it’s hard to believe it was put together by grown men, I began to ask myself precisely what this film was trying to be.

 

There were stunts seemingly executed in slow-motion and shown to us even slower, resulting in yawnworthy chase scenes. There was Aamir Khan running down the side of a building for no apparent reason. Everything -- repeat, everything -- looked too goofy to be either thrilling or realistic or compelling or even plain fun.

విశ్లేషణ:

సినిమా కథని ఆరంభించిన తీరు, చిన్న చిన్న ఫ్లాష్‌బ్యాక్స్‌తో హీరో క్యారెక్టర్‌ని, ప్రేమ్‌జీని పరిచయం చేసిన తీరు ఆకట్టుకుంటుంది. కార్తీ, ప్రేమ్‌జీ ఇద్దరి బాండింగ్‌ని, స్నేహితులైనా ఇద్దరూ పక్కపక్కనే ఉంటూ గోతులు తవ్వుకునే విధానాన్ని దర్శకుడు ఫన్నీగా చూపించాడు. అయితే అసలు కథలోకి వెళ్లడానికి చాలా సమయం తీసుకోవడం వల్ల ప్రథమార్థంలో కాసేపు బోర్‌ కొడుతుంది. కానీ ఇంటర్వెల్‌ టైమ్‌కి కథ రసకందాయంలో పడుతుంది.

ఈ చిక్కు నుంచి వీరు ఎలా బయటపడతారు అనే ఆసక్తికరమైన పాయింట్‌తో ఇంటర్వెల్‌ ఇచ్చిన దర్శకుడు ఆ తర్వాత దానిని అంతే ఆసక్తికరంగా తెరకెక్కించలేకపోయాడు. కామెడీ సీన్స్‌ని ఎంతో తెలివిగా, క్లెవర్‌ హ్యూమర్‌తో రక్తి కట్టించిన దర్శకుడు నిజంగా తెలివితేటలు ప్రదర్శించాల్సిన చోట మరీ కామెడీగా సీన్స్‌ కన్సీవ్‌ చేశాడు. అంత పెద్ద చిక్కునుంచి హీరో బయటపడే విధానం చాలా సిల్లీగా ఉంటుంది.

లాజిక్‌ని పూర్తిగా గాలికి వదిలేసిన దర్శకుడు మినిమమ్‌ కామన్‌సెన్స్‌ కూడా చూపించలేదు. ఎప్పుడో చనిపోయిన వాడిని తర్వాత చనిపోయాడని చూపించడం వల్ల అంతా నమ్మేస్తారా? పోస్ట్‌మార్టమ్‌లో చనిపోయిన టైమ్‌ తెలియదా? చిన్న చిన్న విషయాల్ని కూడా సరిగా డీల్‌ చేయకుండా తనకి తోచింది తీసేసి చివర్లో అదంతా జరగడానికి వివరించిన కారణం కూడా సినిమాటిక్‌గా ఉంది.

లాజిక్‌ గురించి ఆలోచించకుండా సినిమా చూస్తే ఓకే కానీ ఒక్కసారి అటుగా ఆలోచన వెళితే మాత్రం దీనిని చివరి వరకు ఎంజాయ్‌ చేయడం కష్టం. కార్తీ నటించిన శకుని, బ్యాడ్‌బాయ్‌లాంటి చిత్రాలతో పోలిస్తే ఇది చాలా బెటర్‌. అలా అని అతను ఆశిస్తున్న ఆ బ్రేక్‌ అయితే దీంతో రాదు. కామెడీ కారణంగా ఓవరాల్‌గా యావరేజ్‌ అనిపిస్తుంది తప్ప తప్పక చూడాల్సిన సినిమా అనిపించదు. దర్శకుడు ‘బిరియాని’ అని పేరు పెట్టి... తనకి తెలిసిన రెసిపీతో ‘పులిహోర’ కలిపేశాడు. ఏది పెట్టేసినా తినేస్తామన్నంత ఆకలితో వెళితే తప్ప ఈ బిరియాని తిని సంతృప్తిగా బయటకి రావడం కష్టం.
