Hi Everyone
One of my friends sister is in final year MDS in Orthodontics. She is planning to come to USA on H4( dependent ) VISA. Now what are the chances of practicing Dentistry in USA? What options does she have? Should she need to write any exams? or Should she have to study again to practice dentistry in USA? So far she have spent 9 years in studying, and have no intention of studying further. Please help out here, any advice's would be appreciated.

Hi Mama,

I think they have to complete DDS course and pass an exam to practise here. She should have opted to do the DDS instead of MDS in india so that it would have helped her in passing the exam and also the credentials to apply for it.If she is not ready for studying again, then it is the normal route like anyother healthcare professional to shift in to software and work..........Thats my knowledge about it.

Unfortunately there is no way she can do practice in usa with out graduatibg from USA. She has to attend dental school for 4 years. No way around it. Period.

Its just the same with medicine. Even if you are a thopu cardiologist or even doing cardiac transplantation left and right in india if you wanna practice here you have to start from scratch.
