I also followed that speech........Dont take it as literal sense.......Wat he is trying to say is some Indian muslims are so influential with talibanised islam that they value as muslim first and later as indians........If you see all major terror bomb attacks are carried out by Indian muslim youth ( brianwashed)..............He said in a way that Indian muslims should realize all have same DNA  and not the talibanised way of islam...........

secularism is not a very useful concept in India, made worse by poor understanding of it by Indian leaders.

 

There's a particular history on how secularism came to dominate discourse in Western world... India just borrowed it, and mutated it into an ugly being. 

 

What our secularism has brought us is an aggressive minority, that lauds RTE act without even a hint of shame, demands CVB to be introduced.. and actively promotes the new MSDP. 

 

That we still see, and muslims demand to be seen as muslims (not wrong at all) should be obvious by now. Secularism cannot be a national character.. Its a concept of governance.

 

So what is India's national character.. Its obviously Hindu. It cannot be secular. There's no such character.
