Plasma T.V for 33 Lakhs.!!

What is the cost of a Plasma television? It could be Rs 60,000 or Rs 80,000 or at the most Rs 1.5 lakh.

But, hold your breath, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams had brought a Plasma television  at a cost of Rs 33 lakh. It was proved in the state assembly by Telugu Desam Party member Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu, while participating in the discussion on irregularities in the TTD. He pointed out that the TTD records had clearly shown that there were large scale misappropriation of funds in purchase of TV sets and other such gadgets.

Muddukrishnama Naidu also pointed out that scores of people belonging to Kadapa district were allotted shops on Tirumala hills against rules. “Let the government constitute a House Committee. I will prove all the allegations,” he said.

Minister for endowments Gade Venkat Reddy said the government would take all possible steps, including tightening of vigilance, to check irregularities, if any. There was no need for any House Committee probe, he said.
