What do you expect from a pure commercial movie? Commercial movies are made on a win win formula. It is like people watch what they want and pay for that.
Hero’s image, plus and minus, visuals for more key scenes, when should it give a twist? When will have to take the movie to a high pitch? All these are the key points for a commercial make of a story line.
Yes, Yevadu team made the same thing. They gave a commercial treatment to a Hollywood story line. Convincing the audience with the mass elements, the movie filled all the needed features of a commercial cinema to be a hit at box.
Coming to the story line Deepti (Kajal) and Satya (Allu Arjun) are in deep love. But Veeru Bhai (Mukhul Dev) desires for Deepti. Veeru Bhai is a local dada. Satya will be saving Deepti from the attacks of Veeru Bhai. Hence one day Veeru men will kill Deepti and Satya will be admitted in the hospital. Satya with his completely burnt face will be saved by a doctor (Jayasudha). Satya will undergo plastic surgery and Allu Arjun will transform into Ram Charan.
With a heart core revenge Satya starts search of his enemies. Satya with a new name Ram will kill his enemies. But Ram will be followed by another gang? Who are they? Why are they following? Is what Yevadu is about.
This is the story of first half. There is another story for the second half. What is the second half story? Better you enjoy it on screen.
The movie is based on a regular revenge concept. But it is not about one revenge. The story runs with revenge in two ways. The transformation of hero is a new concept for Tollywood audience. The first 15 minutes movie goes like a thriller. The movie also runs in a high pitch till Bunny transforms into Charan. Later it turns into a complete commercial element when the episode of Charan revenge action starts. The movie is brought back to life with an interval twist.
It can be said that the actual story of Yevadu starts here. Director gave a excellent lead to the second half by adding a flash back for the face post plastic surgery. Now second half has a another new story. Audience will have a feeling that they watched two movies on a single ticket. But this drawback was over took by the emotional drama, Sai Kumar’s character being very interesting audience will enjoy the movie.
Yevadu satisfied the expectations of Mega fans with dance moves, fights and dialogues. It gave a new look as it was a face off inspired story. Vamsi caught the pulse on when to raise the movie into a high pitch. We can even say that director followed the trick of Rajamouli. The second half was burdened with heavy emotions with out any relief point.
Brahmanandam was limited to one or two scenes. Director did not concentrate on using Vennala Kishore in the second half though there is an opportunity. Director forgot about comedy in a focus to run the movie in a tempo. Two heroines are for just name sake in the movie. Ami Jackson was better than Shruti Hasan.
Director failed to use Sai Kumar who gave a mind blowing performance. Sai Kumar dialogue delivery with his base voice injects an excitement in the audience. Hope at least after Yevadu our directors should know how to utilise the talents of the vibrant actor Sai Kumar.
Coming to Charan’s performance he acted as per the expectations of his fans. For the first time he was seen in a complete emotional phase. This time he reminded his father while dialogue delivery. Of course as wanted by audience. He proved his dancing talent once again in two songs.
Though Bunny was for a very short time, he turned to be a key role in the movie. Director’s judgement in choosing Bunny for the role worked. Jayasudha was offered a good role after a long time. The conversations between Jayasudha ans Saikumar were highlight to the movie and audience will enjoy it.
As a routine, this time also director successfully missed logics. Who is responsible for the 3 murders in Visakhapatnam? What about the investigations in the case? Will the voice change if undergone a plastic surgery? Many answered questions are left out.
Action sequences are more in the movie. Will families coming to watch the movie enjoy it? The movie is technically sound. Any way Dil Raju’s choice cannot be commented. All elements are added to the movie.
Devi Sri music worked well for the movie. In the emotional sequences director used the names of Chiranjeevi and Pavan Kalyan which gave an added zeal to the audience.
It is absolutely not a classic, neither a mind blowing movie nor something very unique. It is just a commercial movie. Watch it and enjoy.

Ram Charan’s action entertainer Yevadu, has been in the waiting from quite a very long time. The wait is finally over as the film has hit the screens during the lucrative festive season. Directed by Vamsi Paidipally, this movie has Allu Arjun and Kajal Agarwal in guest roles. Let’s see whether Yevadu is all the worth this wait.

Story:-
Satya(Allu Arjun) and Deepthi(Kajal Agarwal) are lovers who decide to get married. Their love is opposed by an evil Veeru Bhai(Rahul Dev) who also falls for Deepthi. On the other hand, Ram alias Charan(Ram Charan) starts killing everyone from Veeru Bhai’s gang.
When all this is happening, yet another gangster from Hyderabad, Dharma(Sai Kumar) is after Charan’s life. Who is Charan? Why is he killing everyone from Veery bhai’s gang? Why is Dharma after Charan? For all these questions, you need to watch the film on big screen.
Plus Points:-
The movie is completely Ram Charan centric. Vamsi Paidipally has successfully manged to showcase Charan as a powerful angry young man. Charan takes this film to another level with his mature performance. His dances are to die for especially in the Freedom song.
Allu Arjun and Kajal’s cameos are breathtaking, and have been conceived wonderfully. First ten minutes and interval bang is very intense and entertaining. Sai Kumar does an awesome job as the bad guy. He looks menacing and once again proves what an stunning actor he is.
Story idea is unique and the way it has been executed is also decent. Some thrills and action episodes, especially the rain fight has been shot extremely well. Amy Jackson provides the necessary glamour quotient in the first half.
Minus Points:-
After an interesting first fifteen minutes, the film becomes highly predictable. When compared to the second half, the first half is slightly on the slower side.
All the scenes and events showcased remind us of many Telugu films. The film only becomes good vs evil and turns monotonous. After an tit for tat revenge drama, climax becomes cliched and routine.
Shruthi Haasan looks beautiful, but has limited screen time and comes in only for the songs. Too much violence might not go well with the family audience. Kota and Brahmanandam are wasted with tiny roles in the film.
Technical Aspects:-
Vamsi Paidipally’s films have always been high on technical values. Even Yevadu is no less, as it has been shot lavishly. Devi Sri Prasad’s music is just about ok, but its his background score which elevates the film to another level.
Camerawork is stunning as the entire film is shot beautifully. Visual effects are top class and look natural. Screenplay of the film is good but a number of scenes could have been chopped off.
Dialogues are powerful and suit Charan’s body language well. Editing is apt and so is the art direction. Choreography is top class and proves Ram Charan’s dancing talent once again. Fights have been composed well and director Vamsi Paidipally has succeeded in elevating Ram Charan in a powerful role.
Verdict:
One the whole, Yevadu is all about Ram Charan’s electrifying performance. Though this film has many routine scenes, you can still give it a shot this festive season.

Yevadu - Story
Satya (Allu Arjun) falls in love with Deepthi (Kajal Aggarwal), but a local goon Dheru Bhai (Rahul Dev) falls behind her in the same time. Satya starts going against the don to make Deepthi comfortable in life. In the meanwhile, College going Charan (Ram Charan) who wanted to help the people in trouble gets attached to some colony people and help them retain their lifes from the local don Dharma (Sai Kumar). How did goons find a way to kill ? How will Charan take over powerful goon Dharma? Will Deepthi and Satya get married? Yevadu answer these question in 166 minutes movie.
Yevadu - Star Performance
Ram Charan looks pretty good in this film and did well in all departments (histrionics dances and fights). Especially his steps in Freedom deserves a special mention. Allu Arjun is good in his cameo provided the perfect launch pad for the movie. Ram Charan failed to provide the variation between Charan and Satya’s character. Amy Jackson seems to be interested in exposing than putting right expression at the right time. Shruti Haasan is fine in her limited character. She sizzled in Pimple Dimple. Shruti Haasan has more importance to the script and Amy Jackson just being additional attraction. Kajal Aggarwal is cute in her cameo. Scarlet Wilson is redhot in Ayyo Papam item number. Jaya Sudha is impressive in her character. Bhramanandam character fails to provide some laughs. Kota Srinivasa Rao is nice in extended cameo. Sai Kumar has some powerful lines and he delivers them in an ease. Rahul Dev is middling in his character.
Yevadu - Techinical Team
The real heroes of the film didn't act. Yes am talking about the Cinematographer and the Music Director. Cinematography from C Ram Prasad is very good, during the flash back scenes. Devi Sri Prasad’s music is outstanding; I must say he has done a commendable job even with the BG score. Even his patience level would have busted out, composing the BG score and to his credit his music is far superior to the script. Dialogues in the movie are good in parts. Esp. Marindi Moham Mathrame Paaga Kadhu, Na Mogudu pothu pothu oka magadini ichi poyyadu.. Etc. Editing by Marthand K Venkatesh editing in the film is okay. Second half drags a lot in the middle. Fights in the film are power packed. VFX in the film are good. Choreography of the film are neat, Esp Freedom deserves a special mention. Coming to Storyline of the film there is nothing new. Movie takes its major line from the Face Off. Many sequences in the second half are inspired from the typical Telugu hits. Vamshi Paidipally takes the storyline ahead with a decent pace that may not prompt you to think much in between. A tight narration was missing in this commercial entertainer. Production values in the film are rich
Yevadu - Analysis
First half of the film is okay, not many dragging episodes and second half picks the pace to adds in some mass - powerful scenes. Yevadu has obviously been made to cater to its target audience, those who don't care about logic and are looking for nothing less than pakka entertainment. If your idea of a movie goes along those lines, watch it!
