Anyway I don't think British actors get paid that much. The entire tone of the show is proof of it. Did you watch how the latest first episode spent a lot of time poking fun at the viewers. I can't think of many US shows that have done it... except may be when Arrested development put in an episode to beg for more viewers late into the 3rd season :P

 

Sherlock viewer numbers (british) are less than even the shows outside top 10 in the US.
