Your employer can convert ur H1 into part time H1B........................i dont know whether u can apply for parttime h1b in the beginning itself..............but if ur on H1B...............he can convert you.............thats for sure.................(100%)

An employer can file part time H1B petition for an employee working less than 35 hours a week.

 

There is no minimum hours required limit to qualify for part-time H-1B status. A part-time h1b petitioner should show proof that the beneficiary is the making living wage and he will be able to support himself.

 

As long as the job qualifies as Specialty occupation and hourly wage rate satisfies the prevailing wage, you can work for several part time employers who are willing to file a part-time h1b petition..

Yes there are however supplemental H1-B visas

If you are doing second Job part time with another employer you can get it.The first H1 will be valid for not more than 40 hrs work a week and second H1 is max 20 hrs a week.

If you are doing two different Jobs you can apply for supplemental H1 visa..I have not heard any one in IT field using it.However I know many doctors (incl some of my own relative) using them

 

However you will not get h1 visa for less than 20 hrs a week (If it is your main H1 visa)
