I Am An Atheist

Yes, I am an Atheist. Life became very hard after I told my friends and family about my Atheism. All my relatives make fun of me saying I got mad and I need some kind of psychological help. Today, one of my relatives came to our house to ask donations for a temple they are going to build in my dad's village. He was explaining how they are going to build this huge temple with all costly materials and how everybody donated 1 lakh or 50,000 or 25,000.....etc and we should do the same. I told him point blank that I don't believe in the concept of god and I respectfully declined to provide any donation. Just within a matter of hours our telephone started ringing constantly from our relatives and they were telling my mom and dad that our family will be cursed because we didn't donate & how I am going to hell for disobeying in god and.....so on. What has this world come to ?

 

WTF ? Can a human being not live happily without god, religion, caste, gothram, muhurtham, astrology, naa pinda kudu ?

 

I just wanted to vent my frustration.   

 

It is not about your atheism, it is all about your mental strength to face the society and people surrounding you. When you are having different ideology then others, you should also develop mental strength to face the retaliation from majority of opposing people.

Don't get frustated, you cannot do any thing in frustration, that leads failures and mental imbalance and loosing confidence on yourself. This is very very very very dangerous.

 

Be believe in you, and don't expect others to bring to your way and change their ideology, you don't have that right.

Practice to respect others ideology, at the same time don't loose your self..

 

I am not atheist, I am god believer, but I don't deny any atheist.. believing or not believing God ones personal choice.

 

Personally, I did not find any difference in life, whether an atheist or god believer, leading life depends on many factors and not only on God belief.

 

Believing God was trained us from the birth, so the belief gives you some sort of confidence and fear to lead life and check your good and bad deeds.

Thats it..don't give much importance to other ideas when you believe in yours are 100% correct, I repeat don't hurt or deny others ideology you don't have right to it.

 

Lastly.. all that "god, religion, caste" are for to live in a disciplined, well organised & good society, but unfortunately for ages together some people took adverse advantage of the ancient rules and spoiled society with all corrupted, anti social things, giving their only selfish meanings to the good old rules.

 

We can live with out may bad, unwanted, meaningless, filthy rules exists in the current life.

 

Best of luck and don't get furstated, be confident and concentrate on you future.

God never expects anything from anyone, its we who provide God with our offerings (money, gold, etc...), according to our satistfaction. Your belief in god is your personal opinion and choice. But, refusing a donation to temple is not going to curse your family. Even though you dont believe in god, have belief in destiny, if you do good you get back the good to you and if you do bad, get ready to take back the bad. (I am not an atheist)
