Job Description

 

As a member of the xxxxx team the Database Developer designs, develops and implements innovative/complex software products using strong technical skill-set and creativity.  This position is responsible for complex coding, testing and debugging new software or making enhancements to existing software. 

 

This job requires excellent analytical and problem solving skills; person should be self motivated and shall possess the ability to learn and adapt quickly. This position requires excellent communication skill due to extensive customer interaction for requirement gathering and discussions.

 

• Contribute collaboratively within a creative and fast paced environment, designing innovative solutions that are architecturally solid and scalable.
• Required to deal with complex data models and object relational database mapping to produce complex reports.
• Creation, maintenance and reviewing of DB code and performance tuning.
• Design and Develop database packages, procedures and functions.
• Provide technical solutions to projects in different stages of the development life cycle.
• Support development team in the design, development, testing, tuning and implementation of database applications
• Writing ad-hoc queries for various reporting requirements.
• Ensures that all deliverables are thoroughly documented.

Skills & Experience

Required skills:

• Strong experience developing and supporting Java/J2EE applications in a structured environment with knowledge of SOA Architecture.
• Strong experience developing with SQL and PL/SQL on Oracle, MySQL including tuning.
• Strong experience developing on JBoss 6 or higher and WebLogic.  Good to have knowledge on how JBoss 6 or higher supports Cloud deployments
• Demonstrated experience in Onshore/Offshore distributed development and support.
• In-depth experience using TOAD or SQL Developer
• Experience with Unix/Linux including basic commands and shell scripting.
• Experience with XML parsing and code optimization methodologies/tools
• Knowledge of Agile Methodologies.
• Nice to have experience with Maven Scripts, Ant scripts, and build tools (Hudson/Jenkins)
• Good knowledge of job scheduling and monitoring tools.
• Experience with Data transfer, ETL process.
• Experience with Perforce/SVN tools

 

 

Other skills:

·       Problem solving and troubleshooting skills.

• Good documentation skills and organizational skills.

·       Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
